Education

Schools state wide
I think we should put the earnings back into the education fund, from the Hoosier Lottery every year.
Do you remember when we voted on the lottery about 20 years or more ago, The state said all of this money will go to the education fund, well guess where it don't. It  go's to Mitch’s General Fund and he takes out what he sees fit. Our former Governor. Jon Kernam said, it's a good thing that the state has reserves because it is facing significant unfunded liabilities.
When the state took over funding of the schools, they took $300 million away, he said, referring to cuts made to public education in 2010.(This is under Mitch's idea of helping the schools out. It doesn’t sound like a good deal to me). This little piece of info was sent in by Ken de la Bastide - Kokomo Tribune March 5th, 2011.
I think we need to do away with this General Fund.It only helps the rich to get richer.
If the lottery money goes to education we would have NO closing of schools and NO teacher’s laid off. There would be plenty of money to help our schools state wide. I'm sure every school in Indiana is hurting somewhere in funding. If I am elected I would make a Law that the Lottery money stays in education fund for the future of our children, so we can have the best schools in the country. I’m sure there are tons of millions of dollars that have been left out since Mitch has had control of the State money. That has to stop, or there won't be any for our schools.
I want comment on this. What do you think?

Charter Schools
I am not for charter schools, they would like to hire non-license teachers, to teach our children. Just think your friend next door is laid off and needs a job, he/she could be teaching your son or daughter. The private schools can reject anybody they want to, and only take who they want. Then they would get the state money per child, as well as what the public school gets now, but the public schools can't kick them out like the charter school can. Then they would keep the state money and send your child back to some other school, and then they would keep the money at the charter school.

Think if the Charter Schools want State funds you need to call them and fine out how much this is going to cost the State of Indiana. They should follow the guide lines as other schools. Have license teachers and except any student. Our Governor Thinks otherwise.  Mr. Clere, StateRep. And our State Sup Tony Bennett, thinks it OK for charter schools, what do they have up their sleeves? You need to call each of them about this matter, and ask how much this is going to cost tax payers. Courier journal paper said, about 300 million where are we going to find this money, when they are closing schools all over the state now, and laying off teachers everywhere. Not good judgment that I see, when I get in, there has to be a loop hole to stop this somewhere. I’m tire of my TAXES going up every year.

I need your VOTE IN 2012 Thanks, Tom
